01THE BIG PICTURE

A RESIDENCY, NOT JUST A JOB

Learn ministry by
sharing in its life.

The Anthem Leadership Residency exists to identify, form, equip, and send emerging leaders for the sake of Jesus and His Church. Residents learn in community, receive honest coaching, and carry real ministry responsibility while they discern how God is forming and calling them.

We want to build people, not simply fill positions.

1–2

years is the usual arc—
shaped around the person,
the ministry, and the season.

02THE FORMATION PATH

WHAT THE RESIDENCY IS FOR

A whole life,
turned toward Jesus.

Presence, Formation, and Mission are not boxes to check or steps to finish. They are a shared way of life that shapes who we are and how we serve.

01 / PRESENCE
✳

Be with Jesus.

Make room for prayer, Scripture, worship, rest, and a life of dependence on God.

ROOTED IN GOD
02 / FORMATION
◎

Become like Jesus.

Grow in character, conviction, humility, self-awareness, and the ability to receive feedback.

FORMED IN COMMUNITY
03 / MISSION
↗

Do what Jesus did.

Serve people, make disciples, lead with care, and help others grow into ministry.

SENT TO SERVE
03WHAT YOU COULD GROW INTO

THE HOPE

Not a finished leader.
A faithful one in formation.

The residency is a place to discover where you’re strong, where you need to grow, and how your gifts can serve the Church. The aim is not a title. It’s a life increasingly ready to follow Jesus wherever He sends you.

Start with your story ↗
01

Deep roots

A steadier life with God, grounded in Scripture, prayer, and Christian community.

02

Christlike character

Greater honesty, humility, resilience, relational maturity, and clarity about your next growth steps.

03

Ministry confidence

Real experience serving and leading, with coaching that helps you learn as responsibility grows.

04

A multiplying life

The ability and desire to invest in others and help them follow Jesus.

04THE WORK

REAL RESPONSIBILITY. ROOM TO GROW.

Learn it.
Lead it.
Multiply it.

Every resident carries a meaningful ministry assignment shaped around their gifts, calling, growth areas, and the needs before Anthem. The assignment becomes a place to practice, make mistakes, receive feedback, and grow in responsibility.

01
LEARNING

Observe, serve, build relationships, and learn the life of the church.

02
LEADING

Take increasing ownership as trust, character, and competency grow.

03
MULTIPLYING

Develop other leaders and release them into meaningful service.

05WHAT ANTHEM INVESTS

WE WALK WITH YOU

Formation happens
in relationship.

Residents aren’t left to figure it out alone. Pastors, elders, staff, and ministry leaders make space for shared life, thoughtful feedback, and growing trust.

01

Weekly formation

Gather with the Lead Pastor and other residents for prayer, Scripture, theology, reflection, and leadership development.

02

Personal coaching

Discern your gifts and calling together, name a few meaningful growth priorities, and revisit them with honest feedback.

03

Guided responsibility

Take on ministry that matters, with oversight and support as your readiness and responsibility grow.

04

Practical support

Get help turning ministry direction into clear priorities, coordination, communication, and follow-through.

Pastoral direction from the Lead Pastor and Elders. Practical coordination helps residents follow through on the work they’ve been entrusted with.

06WAYS TO PARTICIPATE

ONE RESIDENCY. TWO PATHWAYS.

The formation is shared.
The ministry arrangement may differ.

Supported and Volunteer Residents take part in the same core formation, coaching, and discernment. One pathway isn’t more spiritually significant than the other.

PATHWAY A↗

Supported Resident

Carry a defined staff-level ministry assignment while receiving financial support. Supported Residents generally raise ministry support toward their salary, with training and help from Anthem and Reliant.

  • Part-time or full-time role, depending on assignment
  • Meaningful ministry and staff responsibilities
  • Support-raising coaching and partnership
PATHWAY B✳

Volunteer Resident

Choose to give meaningful time and energy to ministry while participating fully in the residency’s formation and development rhythms.

  • Commitment shaped around availability and calling
  • Real opportunities to serve and lead
  • Not used to fill routine staffing gaps
